In our feature "Around the world with Unique Estates" we present different destinations, experienced by people from our team. At the beginning of the working season, Sylvana Vassileva, editor at Unique Estates Media, tells us about her trip to one of the leading financial centers in Europe - Frankfurt am Main.
This is her first trip to Germany's financial and transport center, which she shares with some close friends. The city center, located on the Main River, is often called Manhattan because of the many skyscrapers that rise in the sky. There are the headquarters of many banks, insurance companies and financial institutions located behind the beautiful glass facades of modern office buildings. The city hosts a number of trade fairs and different high-level meetings that often gather the financial and business elite of the world.
"The city pulsates with the dynamics of a stock exchange. Early in the morning, the streets are filled with hectic working people, walking around with their badges, never stop talking on their phones. There are talks about big deals, important meetings and serious amounts in the air. A genuine Wall Street mood, "she says. "Fortunately, the rhythm is different in the area of Frankfurt's old town. In this romantic little corner if feels like life in another age. That is the ancient soul in the body of this perfectly working financial machine. "
Sylvana tells of the beautiful old cathedral there, which has preserved its grandeur since the days when it was the site for the coronation of the German kings, in the Middle Ages. It’s been then when the city became one of Europe's major trade centers. The Old Opera is really charming as well, as is the restaurant in it. The pedestrian area in the old town is a great place for walking, with its authentic cafes, restaurants, antique shops and art galleries.
From the birthplace of Goethe and Schopenhauerm Sylvana brought back a beautiful antique brooch and some home decoration treasures she found in a concept shop in Frankfurt.
We thank her for this footage and the beautiful photos.
