At the end of March, Rolex presented the new models for the year at the Watches & Wonders exhibition, which took place in a completely new format in Geneva. In an eternal pursuit of perfection, the Swiss brand continuously enhances the aesthetic and technological features of its iconic timepieces. With an irrevocable promise of superior quality and precision thanks to craftsmanship and expertise built up over years, Rolex has once again impressed with a different look and raised the bar even higher.
The watch, created to give due to those who look to the sky, this year undergoes a delicate transformation that emphasizes its professional appearance. The design of the Air-King is decided in the spirit of the gauges that can be seen in the cockpit. A "0" has been added in front of the 5 minute mark (which was missing in previous versions). It is a small detail like this that is sometimes needed to balance the overall look. The crown of the new model is protected by a crown-guard system.
Models from the GMT-Master family are preferred by free-spirited people, by adventure seekers in different parts of the planet. In 2022, the GMT-Master II surprises with a crown placed on the left side. An undeniable convenience for people who choose to wear their watch on the right hand, but also a great choice for those with a strong individuality and character. Due to the different design, the date hole is located at 9 o'clock, which also requires mirror printing of the numbers on the corresponding disc.
The President's Watch, as the Day-Date is often called, is one of Rolex's most iconic models. Spotted on the wrists of a number of world leaders, it has always only been available in gold or platinum. This year, the team of experts and engineers of the Swiss company managed for the first time to produce the serrated bezel of this model in the most exclusive metal - platinum. The material is extremely difficult to process and it took years to perfect the technology so as to achieve the impeccable Rolex signature bezel shape. The new Day-Date has a case diameter of 40 mm, and the dial is in the emblematic sky blue color – ice blue.
A favorite of those who love the sea, the Yacht-Master appears for the first time in a noble new makeover in 18-carat yellow gold. The combination with a black Oysterflex strap creates a sense of dynamism and attitude for countless water adventures. With a case diameter of 42 mm, the watch is elegant and at the same time bold enough to bravely accompany you on the high seas.
Although the sharp distinction between men's and women's models is rather a thing of the past, Rolex has always paid attention to those ladies who like to emphasize their femininity. The delicate 31mm Datejust is designed for the most delicate of women's hands, and the new dials for 2022 literally blossom. The floral motifs combine several different surface treatments to create a three-dimensional effect, and at the heart of each flower shines a different-sized diamond.
The sky kisses the ocean in a particularly gentle way at one particular time of the day – just as the sun begins to appear above the horizon. The colors in that moment are magic that only Rolex can translate into a watch. The Yacht-Master 40 sparkles in pink-purple-blue hues, achieved by a precise arrangement of bezel-set diamonds and colored sapphires. Each of the stones is specially selected to achieve the perfect iridescence – just like that of the horizon at dawn. An additional 46 diamonds are set on the sides of the watch for additional sparkle and a lovely radiance.
