During one of the most favorable seasons for traveling, we are heading again to interesting destinations around the world with Unique Estates’ team. Bistra Georgakieva’s journey to the exotic Kingdom of Cambodia is an exciting and emotional experience that she shares with us. This mysterious land attracts her with its secrets, incredible natural beauty, ancient history and culture.
Cambodia is one of the least explored tourist destinations in Southeast Asia. A beautiful place with a lot of architectural monuments from the ancient Khmer civilization. "The temples in the Angkor area are over 1000," says Bistra, "but the most magnificent one is Angkor Wat." The famous complex, designated by UNESCO as part of the world's cultural heritage, is considered the largest religious monument in the world. Bistra’s pictures from the ruins of this ancient civilization, in which silent stone statues observe through the dense tropical rain forests, take us back to another age and bring us to a different state of mind. "The energy of this place is incomparable to anything I've ever experienced. The ambience, the sounds and scents, everything is so powerful, purifying and recharging. The path to these mysterious Buddhist temples, hidden in impassable tropical forests, is a spiritual path worth pilgrimage, "says Bistra. The footage of her journey undoubtedly takes us also to the storyline of the famous film production "Lara Croft," in which the beautiful Angelina Jolie makes her way through the Cambodian savannah.
The colorful markets with handmade jewelery and items, exotic spices and food complement the palette of Bistra’s memories of the place. "Fresh seafood, juicy fruit and local cuisine are a real culinary feast," she says.
We thank Bistra for the shared emotion of this exciting journey. Angkor Wat is already on our wish list of desirable destinations.
