The first guest in the column of Unique Estates Life, where we present the homes that our clients choose, was the DSK Bank Executive Director Diana Miteva.
How would you describe your home?
The most cozy place that gives me peace and a sense of spaciousness.
What interior would you choose to feel comfortable with?
Over the years my preferences have changed. Until recently, I preferred the very clean style, now I love the more romantic, with accents - like a type of furniture or decorations, which also have their own style, enrich the home interior and create a balance of the mood and spirit of all the inhabitants of the home.
Are there any objects and objects in your dwelling that are really valuable to you and would you surely take with you if you move your home to another place?
I recently had to move my home. Some things I did not need, and with some of them I parted, and others just put myself in a garage to get off their way someday. When I moved to the new home, I took the furniture from the dining room and kitchen I had chosen with much love. I have a very interesting story with an old cupboard. My interior designer has developed a concept of kitchen and dining, including color. When I bought my new home and carried furniture from the old one, I got a call from a lady who deals with old furniture in Bulgaria. She offered me this unique cabinet with fine wooden intarsies and a pink marble countertop. And although I got his picture first on my phone, I fell in love with it at first glance and immediately ordered it. When I arrived, I put the cupboard in the living room. After a few months I undertook a repair of my home, and when the interior designer saw this jewel at home, she told me: "I have devised a concept for your kitchen and living room. And this cabinet will be in the center."
When do you travel around the world, do you buy objects or artwork for your home?
Yes, I love when I travel to do it. I mainly take pictures or statues to which I then find a place in my home.
Do you collect something you particularly like?
I can say that what I really like and definitely want to have is the paintings of a Bulgarian artist - Doncho Donchev, whom I have already ordered paintings suitable for different spaces in my home.
Do you have a favorite interior designer or architect whose projects or style do you like?
I love to look at interior design magazines. That's where my ideas come from. I like Bulgarian architects and designers who have very nice and well designed buildings and spaces. In my new home I used the services of Maria Beshlieva Sirakova - a Bulgarian woman who lives and works in Italy.
Do you change the interior of your home according to the season or the different stages of your life and how do you do that?
In fact, I have already mentioned that over the years I have changed my preferences about my surroundings in my home. When I had to move, for example, in 2003, I did so with great reluctance despite the better conditions. While a year and a couple of months ago, when I had to change my home again, I did it with great desire and it brought me many positive emotions.
What is your favorite place in your home, where you spend the most enjoyable moments?
My favorite place is definitely the dining room. There we meet in the evening with the family, and on weekends with friends we love to invite.
Where do you see your home in the world, if not in Sofia, Bulgaria?
As I like my home, I also love the country I live in. Although I have had suggestions for living and working abroad, I have always felt most helpful and balanced in this environment - with my family, parents and friends. This is so far, and the future will show what new challenges and wonderful moments are ahead of me.
