She has worked as a fashion stylist and image consultant for over 13 years. She specialized in fashion at one of the most prestigious art and design colleges in the world. Her many years of experience working for some of the leading print and TV media in our country, as well as the many private clients whose personal style and image she has taken care of, make her one of the most sought-after specialists in the field. Sylvana takes her work as a mission to make more people happy, changing the way they look and live.
My choice to stop working as a fashion stylist for the media was provoked by my desire to use my knowledge and skills to help people, those in real life. Because my work as a personal stylist and image consultant is not limited to defining the right look for the client. My goal is to raise his self-image so that he increases his self-esteem by reminding him of the merits and qualities that he actually has. To be his guide to his new SELF and together we shape his new image that not only works FOR him but also makes him feel happy.
Style formation is a process in which a person finds and declares himself to the world. Masters the techniques to emphasize his advantages, character, beautiful features and unique essence and present them to himself and the world. We all look for approval in the eyes of others and the desire to feel good in our skin, in our clothes, to be liked, appreciated, desired is so natural. Only in such a state can we truly unfold our potential - both professionally and personally.
The most important thing in my work with the client is to get to know him well and to understand his real needs so that I can be of maximum help to him. Taking care of the style and image of a real person has nothing to do with working for a fashion photo shoot. Fashion trends don't matter a lot here. More important are the personality, character, physique, color type and above all – the needs of the client. How this person wants to feel, what he/she wants to achieve in life and how he/she wants to be presented to the world. Because every detail of how we look has a specific message to those around us and can work FOR us, as long as we know how.
People who come to me are usually going through a turning point in their lives, either personally or professionally, and feel the need for change. And since we live in a world where we are accepted by how we look, they are looking for a change in their vision, so they turn to a specialist to help them find their style and a new image, with which they feel more successful and happier. The cases are very different and usually, the change is not only about the appearance but requires a deeper transformation related to the lifestyle. That's why my approach to clients is holistic - I try to change not only the way they look but also how they live, and how they feel.
After talking with the client and having him fill out a detailed questionnaire, we meet to analyze his wardrobe. We start by clearing away everything unnecessary and making room for the new - literally and figuratively. We define the right cuts, materials, colors and styles, according to his physical and personal characteristics - age, profession, figure type, color type, social environment and status, interests, purpose of change, etc. This is followed by a shopping consultation, during which we procure the necessary basic elements of his "new" wardrobe, preparing combinations and styling solutions for the various moments for which he needs to dress. Shopping is reasonable and purposeful. To create the overall look, I advise clients on all its elements – clothing, shoes, accessories, manicure, makeup, hairstyle, etc. I also often give advice on how to maintain their body, mind and spirit so that they feel good and it shows in their posture, appearance and behavior. The beautiful clothes they are wearing only complement the image.
In most cases, we don't get a second first impression in life, so it's important to know what message we want our look to convey to the people we're going to meet at some point, so we choose those clothes that work for what we want to achieve. The color of the manicure, the type of shoes and the cut of the dress when meeting the beloved man are very different from those that a woman should choose for her appearances in a corporate environment, for example. I have had clients who are exceptional professionals in their field, but their careers are not as successful precisely because the way they look compromises them. Naturally, each profession or work environment requires a different dress code and it should be tailored to the position of the person and the corporate image of the company in which he/she works. Despite the rules that the business dress code imposes, I believe that a woman should remain a woman in the corporate world as well. She can look authoritative and serious and be successful without dressing in clothes with distinctly masculine cuts and silhouettes. I also see that often people are resistant to following a business dress code at all, as they associate it with the boring gray suits of clerks and most bank employees. The truth is that with the help of the right cuts, colors, accessories and details in clothing, one can achieve a very effective look that is tailored to the corporate environment, but expresses the character and uniqueness of the person.
That they should be their own priority and take care of themselves in every respect. Only then will they be able to give to the world around them and feel truly good.
