Interview with Mickey Alam Khan: Antidote to the hectic world

This is how Mickey Alam Khan, president of Luxury Portfolio International® and editor-in-chief of the magazine of the same name, sees the dream property.

Luxury Portfolio is the luxury face of Leading Real Estates Companies of the World, the prestigious global network, which also includes the Bulgarian company Unique Estates. How does the web expand opportunities for companies and customers?

The greatest benefit of being part of the world's leading network of locally owned and independent brokerages is the connection within the family. We have over 245 members in 37 countries. You can imagine the opportunity to interact, to exchange ideas and recommendations, to take advantage of trends that migrate from market to market.

How do you see the role of Luxury Portfolio magazine, of which you are editor-in-chief, in the functioning of this network?

Luxury Portfolio magazine is customer focused. It aims to inspire with ideas on lifestyle, real estate, design and travel, to provoke reading pleasure, to show that it is the product of an exclusive network of independent luxury real estate brokers who can turn your dream home into a reality.

The new issue travels slowly through different cultures. Is this what luxury living is for you - to slow down and travel, not to escape yourself, but to find yourself?

Yes, the issue focuses on different cultures through world travel, on local cuisines, homes, experiences, but viewed at a slower pace. Life is a collection of experiences that should not be blurred, but become a reason for reflection and give flavor to a certain period of time. It's only possible if we slow down.

The two magazines - Luxury Portfolio and Unique Estates Life Global View - are in an inspiring collaboration. Do you see in it the interesting crossing of cultures and markets mentioned above?

We are excited that Unique Estates Life Global View is based on the Luxury Portfolio magazine template. I dare say that both magazines look elegant and inspiring, thus reflecting the values of the Luxury Portfolio network and of Unique Estates.

What is your dream property?

Apartment with a view of a park, cityscape or water and a house in the countryside. As is any home that is quiet and peaceful and serves as an antidote to the hectic outside world.
