Business, population and tourism boom in Dubai

Over the past few decades, Dubai has evolved into a modern, world-class city offering exceptional opportunities for a variety of activities and a premium lifestyle.

To attract the best, the UAE has introduced a Golden Visa program that offers short-term and long-term residency to successful individuals – investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, aid workers and front-line workers. From September 2021, tourist visas have been extended from 30 to 60 days to encourage visitors to stay longer and immerse themselves in the diverse opportunities the city has to offer. New types of visas have also been added, such as the Retire in Dubai visa, as well as virtual work programs. "The Golden Visa initiatives and the extremely effective response to contain the pandemic are the reasons for the growth in real estate in the emirate - summarizes Mr. Anand. – Great attention is paid to sustainable projects that put people first; such projects are encouraged by the UAE's commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050."

Food for thought

Jaydeep Anand describes Dubai as "a dynamic hub of fashion, art, gastronomy, music, technology and architecture". Popular destinations include the Dubai Opera, the Dubai Mall – the second largest shopping center in the world, and the Museum of the Future, presenting visions of how society, particularly in Dubai, will evolve over the coming decades.
At the Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice Awards 2022, Dubai was also recognized as the fourth most sought-after destination by foodies. And this is not much of a surprise, as the city has "more than 12,000 restaurants and cafes, serving food and drinks representing the cultures of over 200 nationalities," sums up Kip Haralambous. "Dubai's reputation as one of the world's leading culinary centers has been further enhanced by the announcement of the upcoming June launch of the Michelin Guide Dubai."

Atlantis' new resort, The Royal, which is about to open, will also feature exceptional dining options. "Improving the high culinary standards of the region, 17 restaurants will be opened here, eight of them from famous chefs such as the Englishman Heston Blumenthal, the Peruvian Gaston Acurio and the Spanish Jose Andres, as well as the world's first Nobu by the Beach" - reveals Mr. n Charalambous.

What a world!

Mr Haralambous describes Atlantis, The Royal, as “the world's most ultra-luxury experience created by leading designers, architects and artists. The architectural concept for Atlantis, The Royal, was created as a daring composition of deconstructions of the traditional towers that people associate with Dubai, and each segment of the composition offers a personalized experience." The design pays particular attention to the interior-exterior connection. Hotel rooms and residences will feature private pools, gardens and breathtaking views. "Each of these private pools is so precisely positioned as an extension of the terrace to provide a superb panorama," adds Mr Charalambous. "Apart from this, the building's two terraced towers descend towards each other to meet at the sky bridge, which offers majestic views of the Arabian Gulf and the dizzying landscape of Palm Island and the Dubai skyline."

Nature is also integrated into the resort's water features. The Skyblaze Fountain is the region's first water spectacle where water meets fire. It was designed by Wet Design. The sculpture in the hotel lobby, called Droplets, symbolizes "the first cool drop of rain in the dry desert."

Five Luxe, JBR is a premium beachfront property where experience, wonderful amenities and modern biophilic design are also a priority. The resort features 232 hotel rooms and suites, 212 lavish all-inclusive residences, numerous dining and nightlife venues, ReFive Spa and an iconic pool.
