Apart from being the longest city in Bulgaria with its 25 kilometers from the Yabalka district to the Smirnenski dam, Gabrovo is the "capital of the humor" in Bulgaria. Known for their love of anecdotes and their annual carnival of humor and satire, the jokes of the people from Gabrovo had been spread throughout Bulgaria through the press in the early twentieth century. Along with humor, the city leaves its bright mark in Bulgarian history and with its engineering, with numerous monuments, bridges and long streets. Many artists and amateurs capture in artistic memory the heritage of Gabrovo: old factories, houses, buildings that have their own interesting history or are an important part of city life.
For lovers of the architectural masterpieces and properties with a "biography", Unique Estates is pleased to present the Falcon Houses - one of the symbols, part of the Revival heritage of the city. Built back in 1850, the jewelry houses are located in the historic center of Gabrovo, within the protected cultural territory of the ensemble "Sixth Section", which is the oldest district of the beautiful city. Past, present and future coexist here.
The Falcon Houses are part of the iconic buildings in the neighborhood. They are located on Nikolay Palauzov Street - one of the two oldest streets in Gabrovo, which in the past was known as Kovashkata Street, next to the Palauzov School. The key location of the complex and its unique architecture are the reason for its great importance for the development of the neighborhood.
Initially, there were two houses. Subsequently, they were merged into one. The building is a typical representative of the Gabrovo craft house from the late Renaissance and is one of the few preserved examples of the Gabrovo wooden house. In 2020 the property is completely renovated and modernized. The authentic look of the facade has been preserved, as well as specific ornaments typical of the Revival architecture.
The Falcon Houses have been declared a historical cultural monument of local significance and have been declared an architectural monument of culture. To the delight of the locals and guests of the city, to date the Falcon Houses function as a boutique hotel and gourmet restaurant, and are a great opportunity to invest in Bulgarian!
