For the first time in Bulgaria, at the invitation of Sofia-Center Design and Oksana Shalamanova, there will be an exhibition of Rado Kirov - one of the famous Bulgarian artists, recognized in a number of countries around the world. Art in Interior and Exterior combines previously unseen works in our country, which are used in the urban environment, interior design and among the collections of museum expositions and galleries in Europe and around the world - Paris, London, Berlin, Cape Town. The exhibition will take place at the DOM Arts Center at 49A Parcevich Str. in Sofia and will remain open to the general public from January 31st to February 29th, and Unique Estates is pleased to be a partner of the event.
Rado Kirov was born in Bulgaria in 1955. He showed an interest in the art of metal from an early age, when he first touched the miracle of the Panagyurishte Treasure. The author began his apprenticeship and work with copper and copper products under the guidance of Alexander Raev, one of the greatest craftsmen in Bulgaria at the time. His passion and skills in copper shifted to silver and gold during his years at Pagliari Group in Cape Town. During this time, he had the privilege of handcrafting numerous prestigious objects, including a silver chalice presented to the late Pope John Paul II by former President Nelson Mandela on behalf of the South African government in 1998, a silver bowl with roses presented as a gift to Japan's Crown Prince Naruhito and his wife, as well as the Alfred Dunhill Golf Cup trophy.
"As an artist, I believe that creative pursuits are a mirror for understanding and perceiving life. It is my steadfastly optimistic, positive outlook on life that I try to express through my art. My mirror-polished stainless steel works whimsically and playfully reflect everything in their surroundings, turning even the ugliest environment into a beautiful vision. The message I am trying to convey is aimed at those it speaks to, almost intuitively. It can be summed up in one word – the most important one on earth: Life!” says Rado Kirov.
The creator is also responsible for the creative design and production of unique collector's coins of 1000g pure silver and 1000g 24 carats gold. In 2006, drawing inspiration from the Panagyurishte Treasure, the artist created the Rhino Ryton, a traditional rhinoceros-shaped wine vessel, handcrafted from 1250g of 22 carats gold. This project is a huge personal achievement for Kirov and an absolute confirmation of his mastery. Over the past 20 years, he has gradually shifted his creative focus to product design and functional art, working intensively with interior designers and architects. His works can be found in the renowned Dior boutiques in London and Cannes, as well as in the private collections of connoisseurs.
You can learn more about the author and his works during the exposition, which will remain open to the general public until the end of February 2024.
