Emiliya Dimitrova is a Team Manager and a member of the Management Board at Unique Estates. Recently, she took the position of Account Manager and is responsible for creating long-term relationships with investors and presenting projects to employees in the company. Before joining the company, she was a lecturer in the program of housing/mortgage loans for the profession "Broker" at NSNI, has a number of author's publications in specialized economic publications in our country. Along with her many honors, Emilia also holds a Doctorate, a professional field in Public Communications and Information Sciences. We meet with her to tell us more.
Why did you decide to continue your professional training after a Master's degree?
We live in the age of information technology, which implies that we ourselves improve and upgrade skills and knowledge throughout our careers. The life model that our parents followed, namely to complete their higher education and then build a career, is not very effective nowadays. Many of the current professions will disappear and others will appear, which implies retraining and continuing training for many of the professions. My decision to continue my academic studies was a natural continuation of my desire and desire to upgrade my own skills. My basic education at the university is Marketing and this was also an important factor in my choice. In 2016, after entering a competition, I was enrolled as a doctoral student at UniBit in the Doctoral Program "Organization and Management of Information Processes". The work and preparation of the dissertation during the years of study gave me a huge experience and knowledge that I believe will be useful to many young colleagues and researchers.
Why did you choose this professional field: Social Communications and Information Sciences?
The topic of the dissertation is "Advertising activities and strategies of Bulgarian museums in the modern information society." The research focuses on the advertising strategies of Bulgarian cultural institutes and the benefits of using information technology to achieve better marketing policy. In this regard, the topic of the dissertation to date is more than relevant. The transformation of the form of communication between people is already a fact. 2020 changed the whole world and imposed new forms of communication and consumer experience. It takes about 12 weeks to create lasting consumer habits, to use a specific product or service and to perform certain actions. I think that to date this condition has been met. We are witnessing unprecedented events in human history. Digitalisation of business has never been more important than it is now.
Do you manage to apply something you have learned in your career?
Yes of course. The digitalization process is relevant for all areas of business, culture, education. The luxury real estate segment is also being transformed to be able to benefit its customers. It is already part of our daily life to do several virtual inspections with one client, to discuss the documentation remotely and sometimes to complete the transaction remotely. All this seemed almost unbelievable until a year ago.
Do you think that most educations contribute to better commercial qualities?
I am a professional trader and that is why I think that raising the qualification and acquiring new knowledge and skills are always beneficial. The periodic company trainings organized by Unique Estates are also extremely helpful for me and my colleagues. Social networks have their own rules and different audiences. Knowledge in the field of digitalization and advertising of a specific product is common to any business. In this regard, the work on my dissertation to give a very valuable experience and vision for the future.
What is your strongest quality?
Professionally, my ability to communicate properly with clients gives me the confidence to continue working with people. Our profession requires a great deal of knowledge in the field of psychology. I love daily communication with clients. It charges me, as well as the result of a job well done. Satisfied customers are the biggest reward for a trader. In my current work as a team manager, I also train new colleagues in the period of their introductory training. Proper communication with customers, especially now during the pandemic period, is extremely important. The process of trust between a consultant and a client is sometimes built only over the phone or through video calls. It is the good skills of the consultant to be able to "feel" his client and gain his trust are the qualities that undoubtedly lead to success and professional satisfaction.
How was your first year as a Manager?
I feel extremely proud to be part of the Unique Estates team. After 10 years of experience in the banking field, the change in my professional field recharged me with a lot of energy and desire to work. During this year I trained new colleagues and acquired new knowledge and skills. My colleagues in my team and I have achieved a lot of success and as a real family we continue to support each other and be useful to our clients on a daily basis.
