Just around Christmas time slows down and we all get somehow better and a bit happier. We devote ourselves to our homes and loved ones and give more attention to our soul and thoughts.
Good days are coming. We decided to immerse you in splendour and timelessness of the festive season with some beautifully narrated stories - those of Marche Antique and Le Petit Salon. The selection of exquisite antique furniture and objects by Silvia Zaimova is now arranged at a new place and its address is 3 ”Gerlovo”street in Sofia. The news is that the beauty and aristocracy of her collection around the holidays will be greatly complemented by the delicate presence of the sisters Titta and Lily. We know their dolls, watercolors, cards and all the magic that surrounds the two girls from their Le Petit Salon gallery in the Old town of Sozopol. The three ladies share their love for the time when everything was created by hand, with much love and precision. The attitude towards details that Titta has may be noticed in her exquisitely crafted dolls, which reflection we see in the French antique mirrors displayed at the store. She moulds their porcelain faces herself, giving each one a unique character. Their clothes resemble houte-coutute theatrical costumes, each piece telling its own mysterious story.
Just like any of the things displayed at the store of Silvia Zaimova. Interesting French candlestick-holders, lamps, mirrors, wall clocks, dressers, tables, armchairs, carpets, porcelain and small sculptures from the 19th century are skillfully arranged in the Marche Antique. There are lots of ideas for unique Christmas gifts – like the authentic crystal and porcelain sets, the small sculptures, the opulent mirrors and the paintings that would fit great in every modern house.
"Recently, there has been a great interest in writing tables and mirrors with luscious frames, as well as individual chairs with authentic upholstery," Silvia says. For her, every item of the selection she's made is part of a collection of jewels that are difficult to separate with, because she has chosen them with a very personal touch and attention. These are objects that have been created in times when the masters have put a lot of love and precision in their making. "I think that in every home, whether it has a modern design or a classic interior, there is always a place for such a jewel," says Silvia. As far as possible, she investigates the origin of each item she selects. Silvia sells them with the story of their previous life and the emotion she had discovering them for herself. She is happy when each item finds its new home and its life is extended by the new owner.
In addition to collaborating with the talented girls from Le Petit Salon, Silvia enjoys the opportunity to work with Gredi Assa, whose paintings are a great contrapunt in her store. The canvases, which were part of expositions in the National Art Gallery and the Sofia City Gallery, now give a soul to a space like Marche Antique. And like everything else in the store's collection, they have the power to bring a lot of good energy and joy to someone, not just in the days around Christmas.
