Eng. Teodor Iliev is a doyen in the real estate trade in Burgas.
He graduated from the Institute of Chemical Technology and then became a Master in Industrial Economics at the Higher Institute for National Economy. He also holds a bachelor's degree in pedagogy from the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski ". He is a member of the Managing Board of the National Real Estate Association. Founder and Chairman of the Bourgas Real Estate Association - BATNI. For years he has been a member of the non-profit association "Rotary Club" in Burgas. Award winner of the only National Representative Branch Organization of Real Estate Professionals. Member of the Board of Directors of AG Capital.
He is a real sea man. And so it seems, no matter where you meet it, you will notice its proud stance, the upright figure and the confident steps of a man who has achieved a lot in his life. The sea brings him a special satisfaction, probably because when you are close to him, you understand how little you need to be happy.
He visits us in the yard of a neat cottage in Chervenka, south of Chernomorets. The shore is next to us, the yard is dazzling green, the lawn is well cut, the Indian lilac trees blooming in rich cyclamen. Theodor Iliev is a very warm host, showing us his summer home, which the family has long and loves a lot. Here, on warm days, three generations have met - children and grandchildren, and their pictures are everywhere. She tells of her favorite, very masculine collection of weapons, arranged elegantly along the walls, along with valuable sea trophies.
Homemade fruit cake and fresh lemonade await us in the yard, the afternoon is long, there is time for a lot of stories.
You are the father of Vesela and Hristo Ilievi, in the companies with respect you call Senior. Tell us about your family, work together for two generations, how do you create a big family company with serious traditions?
We are genetically industrious. My father was a prominent builder and so educated me. I've been led by a child to work and I have done with the kids. I did not leave them anymore from small ones, and on Saturday and Sunday I was finding some kind of activity. They had an ordered schedule of tasks. They probably were not very happy as children, but I taught them honesty and hard work.
For me there is nothing more important than the family, it is the greatest value ...
My belief is that everything that has survived millennia must be respected and respected - our religion, the family. Children often follow the example of their parents. I worked as a general manager of a large enterprise in Burgas. I have always respected my position. I also believe that the example is expressed in terms of morality and morality, in the relationship between mother and father. Unspent tensions affect children even subconsciously. I have read how important the example of the father is, especially for the girls. Now I am proud of my children not only because they are successful, but also because they have created good families. I like their environment, there are serious and intelligent people around them. The greatest achievement of a man is his children. The main, the big, I understand that I have succeeded. That's why I'm proud. I have to say that I have always respected them, their opinion is leading to me, I believe in their judgment of everything. I check my watch and see that it keeps me in shape. The best wishes I can make to every person is to be healthy and to be proud of your children! And I'm blessed with five grandchildren.
Describe yourself, do you look like a self-analyzing person who takes stock?
I am precise and unfortunately too orderly, planned, workaholic, very strict parent. My persistence, discipline and pedantism are innate and glorious, I did not have to teach me that. That's how I think that when I see the success of friends, I say about it, I congratulate, I am glad, I praise them, I love it. I can only learn from them. I want people to live well. Here we are, in Chervenka, we have made an association. I have been chairman for many years, I am now on board. And in this endeavor I work for all. I've done a lot of things a long time, you've seen everything in front of the house, and everything around her is beautiful. Now I am struggling everywhere in the area - the streets are nice, clean, tidy.
I admire personalities. For example, the mayor of Bourgas - a man with a wide range, with possibilities and very modest, hardworking, has made an outstanding team. And it is visible in the city - Burgas was decades behind Varna, it is now quite different.
As a person I also have my strong and not so strong sides. I'm open to the novelties. I have my weaknesses, but I work continually to overcome them.
I always look forward to the Monday - instead of saying "Thank God, it is Friday". Finally, I will admit - I love provoking myself - it feeds me with energy. I can not and do not want to believe that on August 4 I was 77 years old.
You feel great in these years, tell how?
One must possess class, goodness, beautiful mind, and dignity. I have my recipe for longevity: the gene is first; but, if possible, quality food; at least two liters of water per day; constant movement and sport; continuous work - retired people die the fastest; to the end of life, to admire the beautiful women.
People know you as a team player, is not it?
"Address" is a phenomenon and a school for cadres in the real estate business. I believe in the endorsement: "If you want to go fast - go alone if you want to go far - go out with someone." I have been with my son and daughter for 25 years, and our most valuable asset is our employees. Our company not only works, it builds trust. Many human destinies have passed through my life, I have always helped because we are a family.
I have to constantly prove myself and make more effort than my colleagues because I am responsible. People are motivated to know what and why they do and come with pleasure at work. The bigger things we do, the bigger the challenges come, but life is a struggle. A real estate consultant is an extremely difficult profession. Commercial and technical skills are required - knowledge of language, high computer skills, knowledge of people's psychology. I really like brokers working with us, having interests, going to theater, opera, exhibitions or concerts. To travel, keep up with new technologies. It is not possible to prosper without creative people to experience passion and love what they do. We have to give them a goal, values and dreams.
How do you rest? It seems that you are always on the lookout, careful in the details, nothing escapes you. This is a serious tension ...
My hobby is to travel. In recent years, I have had more time and I have been able to visit several more distant countries. I like to stay in a café, in an exotic place and watch local people. Each nation has a specific culture of life and expression of emotions. I travel with a camera and I often allow myself to make unauthorized photos of strangers from distant countries. I am thrilled by the happiness of the children. The lower the standard in one country, the more real the emotions of people's faces. Everything is different - their race, their architecture, their religion, their value system, ancient culture, their traditions. In addition to traveling, I like to ride a bicycle and the usual weekend activities.
