Iliana Ilieva and Konstantin Konstantinov - Project Alter Ego

Alter ego is a joint creative project of two Bulgarian artists - Iliana Ilieva and Konstantin Konstantinov, who work together on one canvas. For Iliana, the project is "freedom, provocation, escape, sharing, alchemy". For Konstantin - "authentic life in art".

It is about challenging the ego - the ego of the creator, the ego of the artist in tandem with another artist, the ego of the audience. The Alter ego project is a proposal to walk unknown paths to your essence through art and let yourself be surprised at the end of them. "One of the literal meanings of alter ego," says Iliana, "is another entity, a person within a person," which resonates deeply with us as creators. With the project, we explore the limitations of the subconscious search for perfection and give space to expression, to the imperfect, to the unevolved, to entropy, to reconciliation with human duality.” Artists speak mostly through their works.
