Before buying, check the status of the electricity and water supply. Pay attention not only to the already existing neighboring houses but also to the construction and regulatory plan of the area - how it will look in a few years. Coordinate with your realtor the leveling, lighting during the daylight hours, and how surface water will drain. These things are of prime importance when considering and choosing the plot for your new house.
If you have chosen to move into an already built house, even if it is still plastered or why not furnished, carefully consider the layout of the rooms. Functional rooms will provide you with comfort, space, and light. Think about what rooms you need and how you would like them positioned. Would you like the bedrooms to be on the upper level only, or would you leave a guest bedroom on the ground floor along with the living room and kitchen? Do you need storage, how high do you want the garage to be, and what kind of staircase should it be? Most often, bedrooms are designed with north exposure, but this is not a cause for concern, because, in modern construction, high-quality insulation, bricks, and window frames are used, and produced according to technological standards, which protect the premises from the influence of external temperatures, preserve the heat in the room and compensate for the lack of sufficient sunlight.
When buying a new property, it is important to be aware of the condition not only of the home but of the entire building – when it was built, what the construction is like, and what materials were used. Demand this information from the builder or investor and claim the quality of the site. You should have the security and peace of mind that your home will be protected from outside influences.
Even if you are moving into an already furnished home, you can always change something you don't like and replace it with something you like better. Of course, you may want to take some of your favorite furniture, items, and accessories from your previous home to keep the interior similar. Think about whether you like the overall feel of the home, the colors, details, and ornaments – whether you would repaint the walls or put wallpapers or authentic bricks for example. Furniture is key in a house because apart from being aesthetically beautiful, it should also provide you with comfort and functionality. Some people are adherents of classical traditions, while others prefer contemporary art. Some of them are lovers of minimalist design and others of industrial design. The vintage style is particularly popular in furnishings, as is the Scandinavian style, as well as retro modernism.
