Geo Milev is one of the biggest quarters in the capital and it is located in its eastern half, close to the centre.
It borders with Reduta Quarter to the north, with Yavorov housing estate to the west. Sitnyakovo Blvd. separates them from Geo Milev. Tsarigradsko shose Blvd. separated it from Iztok housing estate, which is on the south. Slatina quarter is on the east.
Geo Milev is rather quiet and the air is clean. This is one of the oldest quarters of Sofia, built in the sixties. In the last 10 years the quarter is filled with new luxury blocks of flats. Brick constructions predominate. The panel buildings are only few. There are many old but well-maintained one- or two-storey houses. The building fund is significantly new and not obsolete.
The quarter is very well planted, thanks to the Geo Milev Park, where the Festivalna Sports Hall, the Akademik Stadium and the Universiada Hall are located.
There are 4 schools in the area, a college and Foreign Student Centre.
The police department servicing the area - Ist Regional Police Department - is located at Shipchenski prohod Blvd.
Traffic police department Sofia District is located on 71 Geo Milev Blvd .
The two district polyclinics are located on N. Kopernik Str. and Akad. G. Bonchev Str. (next to the Bulgarian Academy of Science complex).
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Slatina Municipality, the Holy Trinity Church, the Geo Milev Park, the Sitniakovo market place, Fantastiko hyper market and one of the big hotels in the capital – Pliska are situated there. Registration Agency is located on 20 Elisaveta Bagriana Str.
