Starting next Tuesday, thousands of attendees will flock to Sofia, Bulgaria, to take part in the Webit.Festival, the largest of a number of conferences that the Webit Foundation, chaired by Bulgarian serial entrepreneur and investor Plamen Russev, is organizing across Europe and Asia.
Companies like Telerik, Chaos Group (the maker of the V-Ray software), and more recently, Tickey, have boosted the reputation of Bulgarian engineers and developers around the world. Sofia was even listed among the 10 top cities to launch a startup in an infographic curated by the The Brighton School of Business and Management and published by Seedstars World. The 10% flat tax on profits and 5% on dividends, the vibrant ecosystem and the big number of very welcoming co-working places, the growing number of accelerators and VCs are setting the scene as one of the best in CEE.
