We are proud and delighted to share that, for the second consecutive year, Unique Estates | Christie’s International Real Estate is the main corporate partner of one of the most significant cultural events in Bulgaria – Gala in Sofia 2026, created by the internationally acclaimed Bulgarian soprano Sonya Yoncheva. In our 20th anniversary year, supporting culture remains a key part of our mission to contribute to the development of society and to strengthen Bulgaria’s position as a prestigious international destination.

On August 23, 25 and 27, Gala in Sofia will transform the spiritual heart of the Bulgarian capital – St. Alexander Nevsky Square – into a stage showcasing the very best of European musical art. Opera, classical music, electronic music, techno, pop and crossover projects will come together in a large-scale open-air event – a cultural format unlike any other in Bulgaria, demonstrating how tradition and innovation can coexist and inspire new audiences. The event is organized by the production company SY11 Events, in partnership with the Sofia Opera and Ballet and with the support of Sofia Municipality and the Bulgarian Patriarchate.

Following the remarkable success of the previous edition, which attracted more than 10,000 spectators, the 2026 festival is expected to reach an even wider audience and welcome up to 20,000 guests across the two main evenings.

The programme includes three exceptional events with a strong international cultural focus. On August 25, audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy a concert performance of Giacomo Puccini’s opera Tosca, featuring Sonya Yoncheva and world-renowned tenor Jonas Kaufmann. On August 27, a gala evening will take place with virtuoso violinist David Garrett, conducted by Leonardo Sini. The DJ party on August 23 will be titled Unlimited and will be led by Charles B – a French DJ, producer and internet phenomenon. This is precisely the spirit of the younger generation that Sonya Yoncheva aims to attract to classical music. The Orchestra of the Sofia Opera will also perform during this special evening.

David Garrett, a leading figure in contemporary crossovers between classical and pop music, is including Bulgaria in his highly successful world tour at the invitation of Bulgarian opera star Sonya Yoncheva. The Blue Night concert will take place at St. Alexander Nevsky Square, where audiences will enjoy a unique blend of beloved classical works and popular contemporary hits, performed for the first time through the voice of Yoncheva and the violin of Garrett.  In Bulgaria, he will present selected pieces from his new album Millennium Symphony, in which he reinterprets popular works from the past two decades.

Following HAUSER’s announcement that he is cancelling all concerts until the end of the year due to health reasons, David Garrett’s inclusion in the Gala in Sofia 2026 programme makes it possible not only to preserve the Blue Night concert, but also to present it at the highest possible international level – one that the festival audience truly deserves. Tickets already purchased for the concert with HAUSER will remain valid for the David Garrett concert and do not need to be reissued. Charles B has gained international recognition through his impressive interpretations of works by Vivaldi, Mozart and Beethoven, transforming them into large-scale electronic performances that reach millions of listeners around the world. Thanks to him, the works of the great classical composers have also found a place on TikTok. His videos and musical projects have generated millions of views on social media – more than 500 million in the past 12 months alone – while his profiles are followed by hundreds of thousands of fans.

The event brings together some of the brightest names on the international classical music scene and reinforces Sofia’s position as a cultural destination attracting distinguished audiences from Bulgaria and abroad. Through its vision and scale, Gala in Sofia contributes to the promotion of Bulgarian culture and to its prominent presence on the international stage.
