We travel around the world with Unique Estates’ team. Our charming Customer Service Expert, Gergana Yakimova, tells us about her trip to Bangkok and the beautiful islands of Phuket and Pi Pi Don in Thailand.
Some of Gergana’s close friends initiate the idea of this twelve-day adventure in Southeast Asia.
The first stop of their journey was Bangkok. The group took a boat down the Chao Phraya River to explore the various areas of the city. The megapolis combines the infrastructure and dynamics of a large cosmopolitan city with areas dotted with small, temporary buildings where poor people live. "It was interesting that despite the dynamics of the hectic everyday life and the different social status of the locals we met, everyone seemed very calm and welcomed us with a warm smile and greetings," Gergana says. Bangkok's historic center captivated the group with its beautiful temples and monasteries decorated with gilding, colourful stained glass, rich ornaments, beautiful mosaics and exquisite Buddhist statues.
On their way they came across two interesting markets that Gergana will remember with a variety of ripe exotic fruits and seafood, but also with the challenge to try fried grasshoppers and worms. She says she likes to embark on new things, especially when she travels.
The group had even more adventures than this culinary one. Their next stop was Phuket Island where they decided to indulge in extreme rafting in wild rivers, ATV rides and zipper slides above deep abysses.
They left the leisure time for the last destination of their trip - the fabulous island Pi Pi Don. The place is renowned for its palm trees and fine white sand beaches and the turquoise blue waters of the Andaman Sea. The group went diving near Pi Pi Le, which we know from footage with Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie "The Beach". They also saw the Monkey Island.
Gergana returns from the trip loaded with sun and positive emotions. From there, she got handmade coconut bowls, beautiful scarves and several of her favourite exotic fruits that can’t be bought here.
Thanks for the shared footage and exciting stories, Gergana
